I recently took posession of a Kickstarter funded Excope DT1 camera from Beaverlab Technology.
I was taken with the idea of the DT1 from my experience with the DxO ONE, a small camera that used a smartphone as the screen from back around 10 years ago, in 2015. I bought mine finally in August of 2019 for about $150 along with a case, cable and memory card.
The idea of an interchangable lens and 10+ years of development on sensors and mobile devices scratched my gear itch and I backed a two lens kit for $280 in April, and took posession at the end of October.
I will share some further details on this product, but I can say that I am thoroughly dissapointed by the DT1 and cannot recommend this for any serious or casual camera user.
You can read more about the Excope DT1 here at the kickstarter page, or here at a PetaPixel review of the same device.
I’ll share some photos and examples soon.
